While the US media scrambles to find out any minor details about future iPhone models, workers in China already know a lot about the device. Dejian Zeng, an NYU grad student who spent 6 weeks working undercover in a Pegatron iPhone factory in Shanghai, explains what the factory would do to prevent leaks as they transitioned into working on the iPhone 7.

Following is a transcript of the video:

"It’s impossible for workers to take photos or even carry some components out."

Dejian Zeng spent 6 weeks working at a Pegatron iPhone factory in China.

Here’s how they kept the iPhone 7 a secret.

"Workers know how popular the iPhone is in China.

And typically when we started producing the iPhone 7, a lot of workers think it’s very cool that they see the products that have not yet been published.

In the workshop, we were originally producing the iPhone 6s, and during that time that we were in the workshop, they were already building up some facilities or infrastructure to build the assembly line for iPhone 7.

And they had this big curtain that blocked everything.

So even though we were in the same workshop, we saw nothing.

And later on, we were moved to another sub-factory building to do work there for a while, because they need to rebuild the assembly line that we are working on also.

After a while, we were moved back to the factory, and we had the new assembly line producing iPhone 7.

We have a locker room. That’s where workers changed their clothes, put their phones, their keys, all their metals.

We need to swipe our card, and they have facial recognition.

After you get in, you wait in line to go through a metal detector.

But that was during the time that I was producing iPhone 6s.

When I was producing iPhone 7, they increased their security level.

There were two metal detectors in the factories, and they also increased the sensitivity of it.

Like, for example, some girls have some bras that have metals in it.

All of a sudden, on that specific day, they couldn’t pass the security door, and they needed to go back and change everything.

Inside the factories, any kind of metal is not allowed.

So I don’t think anybody can bring a camera or something like that inside of the factories.

But high-level managers — they’re able to bring their phone.

So I’m not sure whether photos can get leaked by that.

But every time when they need to go through the metal detectors, the security will ask those managers to press the button on their phone, so that they can see the screen.

Because I think there are some cases where they bring an iPhone and put it in a case of a fake phone and just carried it out.

A lot of the workers, on the first day they start producing it, we can tell that there’s no headphone jack there.

And then we can see that they have two cameras.

So those are some things that we can see and we can remember and we can tell the media later on.

There are cameras in the workshop, in every assembly line.

During the training, they told us that there are some cases where workers were trying to carry iPhones out of the factories and got caught, and they were being sent to the police.

So when I was producing iPhone 6, I did see Apple come for audits.

I think it was 2 or 3 times.

And every time when they come, the manger in the factories got very nervous.

They would tell us you need to follow the procedure and sit straight, and don’t talk.

Later on, when we started producing iPhone 7, you could see Apple staff there every single day."

On May 7, the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida got a loud surprise. One of the Air Force's two secret X-37B space planes announced its re-entry to Earth with a loud sonic boom.

The plane is part of the Air Force's X-37 program. Not much is known about this program except that the Air Force has launched four missions since 2010.

Moreover, the plane that returned from orbit on May 7 stayed in space longer than any of the previous three missions. What are those space planes doing up in space?

In 2016, Elon Musk presented a new product that may someday change the way we power our homes — it's called Solar Roof.

Solar Roof is the brainchild of the Tesla-owned company, SolarCity. Unlike traditional solar panels, which are bulky and attach to your current roof, Solar Roof is designed to look like traditional roofing shingles.

Partnered with a battery pack called the Tesla Power Wall, homes can use power generated from the sun at night.

Solar Roof became available for pre-order on May 10. After a $1,000 deposit, Solar Roof will cost homeowners around $21.85 per square foot.

There will eventually be a day where prosthetics are no longer just for the disabled. However, it’s not just our outside appearance that will change – our genes will also evolve on microscopic levels to aid our survival.

For example, an Oxford-led study discovered a group of HIV-infected children in South Africa living healthy lives. It turns out, they have a built-in defense against HIV that prevents the virus from advancing to AIDS.

And with gene-editing tools like CRISPR, we may eventually control our genes and DNA to the point where we make ourselves immune to disease and even reverse the effects of aging.

Another way to jump-start the human evolution on a different path is to move some of us to Mars. Mars receives 66% less sunlight than Earth. Which could mean humans on Mars will evolve larger pupils that can absorb more light in order to see. And since Mars’ gravitational pull is only 38% of Earth’s, people born on Mars might actually be taller than anyone on Earth. In space, the fluid that separates our vertebrae expands, which led American aerospace engineer, Robert Zubrin to suggest that Mars’ low gravity could allow the human spine to elongate enough to add a few extra inches to our height.

However, not even a move to Mars could spark the biggest change in human evolution that we may have coming in the next 1,000 years: immortality. The path to immortality will likely require humans to download their consciousness into a machine. Right now, scientists in Italy and China are performing head transplants on animals to determine if you can transfer consciousness from one body to another. They claim their next big step is to transplant human heads.

Whatever happens in the next 1,000 years — whether we merge with machines or become them — one thing is certain: The human race is always changing — and the faster we change and branch out from Earth, the better chance we have of outrunning extinction.

If you're ever in a car accident that results in the car sinking, you only have seconds to react and save your life. Here's what to do.

Following is a transcript of the video:

Reaction time and speed are key for survival. A sinking car will not immediately submerge, which means there’s a small window of opportunity to act.

Don’t try to open the door. Water pressure makes this extremely difficult to do. And even if you could open the door, this would allow more water to come in and make y our car sink faster. Instead, quickly roll down your side window, unbuckle yourself, and climb out. If you were too slow to react, the water pressure could pin your doors and windows shut. That means you'll have to break a window. Don’t try the car’s front windshield as it’s built to resist impacts. Instead, go for the side windows. Use your foot and kick at the top of the window or remove the headrest from your seat and jam it where the window meets the door.

You can also use a glass breaking tool like ResQMe to quickly break the window. It can easily be stored in the glove compartment or on your keychain. If the car is upside down and your seatbelt is locking you in, the tool can even cut you free.

After breaking the window, immediately take a deep breath of air and swim out through the rushing water toward safety.

Following is the transcript of the video:

The black holes will eat up everything else in the universe.

I'm Robbert Dijkgraaf. I'm the Director and Leon Levy Professor at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, and I'm a theoretical physicist.

I think the greatest discovery from Einstein’s theory is that the universe is expanding. But we learned something even more dramatic in recent years.

We learned that the universe isn’t only expanding, but there’s like a force inside empty space that helps to push the universe apart. It actually is accelerating the expansion of the universe, and this has really dramatic consequences. It will mean that the distant part of the universe will start moving away so fast at a point, that it’ll go faster than the speed of light.

That is to say, we’ll never be able to see them. So, what will happen to our part of the universe is that all the neighboring galaxies will slowly fade away. And we are left only with our galaxy and perhaps a few others, and that’s it.

We will be kind of living in an island universe. So, when the galaxy is left alone in this kind of empty universe, the stars will go out one by one because they will burn their fuel. And if all the stars are done burning their fuel, the only force that’s left is the force of gravity.

And it will slowly pull them in, and the black holes will eat up everything else in the universe, and this will be it. It’s a very desolate future for the universe. And I think that’s why many physicists were very hesitant to believe that this is actually the true future history of the universe. But it turns out, that the experiments are all pointing in that direction.
